How does a distributor become certified on current Ridgeline SKUs?
Keystone Industrial Supply is our independent distributor, and its counter staff answer torque questions before we ever hear them. Theo Baptiste explains the Distributor current-SKU certification path, what it proves, and what it does not authorise.
A distributor becomes certified on current Ridgeline SKUs by completing the Distributor current-SKU certification path in its own partner workspace. The path teaches RB-1200 revision control, ECO conflict escalation, safe SOP ownership and returns intake, and it ends with the Current-SKU knowledge review, which needs 80% to pass. Completion evidence is carried through the pushed learning path itself. Partner standing is computed from that evidence; it is never a status somebody ticks. The role the evidence earns is Current SKU Specialist.

Who is Keystone and why does its training matter to us?
Keystone Industrial Supply is an independent industrial distributor in the Westhaven industrial district. It supplies our brackets, fasteners and mounting hardware, and it is linked to Ridgeline Fabrication in its own partner workspace. Lena Vasquez is its founder and partner admin, and she administers the partner learning.
When a customer asks a counter question about RB-1200 torque, Keystone answers it. If Keystone answers with Rev C, the customer installs to 45 N·m. The certification path exists so that Keystone answers with Rev D, 52 N·m, ECO-2041, every time.
What does the path cover?
Four modules. Released specs and engineering changes: Rev D, not the customer's old drawing, and how to retain Rev C as evidence rather than deleting it. Safety and managed SOP ownership: why Priya Raman owns the lockout-tagout and press-brake setup SOPs and why a remembered sequence is not a procedure. Distributor certification and the partner workspace: where Lena administers the learning and what proves standing. And returns intake: what an RMA number authorises and what evidence a warranty claim preserves.
What does the review look like?
The Current-SKU knowledge review has a time limit of 25 minutes and a pass threshold of 80%. It mixes question kinds: a multiple-choice check on the Rev D torque, a multi-select on which sources explain the field conflict, an ordering question on the controlled-source handoff, a written explanation of the current source and escalation, and a scenario in which Keystone holds two contradictory torque sheets.
A learner who already knows the material can prove it before studying. The path offers a pre-assessment first, so an experienced distributor is not made to sit through lessons on facts they can already cite.
What does completion prove, and what does it not?
Completion proves that the learner can cite the current source, name the superseded one, name the owner of a dispute and describe what a warranty claim needs. The badge is Current SKU Specialist. The role it earns carries the same name.
Completion does not authorise changing a torque, bypassing an isolation requirement or promising a warranty outcome. A certificate is evidence of knowledge, not a grant of engineering authority. Training completion and certification standing are also distinct things: I review the current roster before enabling a distributor to advise on newly released hardware, and I check the evidence rather than assuming a badge.
Where does the path live?
In Keystone's partner workspace, which runs on Vera by UnicornIQ, the same place Ridgeline keeps its released documents and managed SOPs. The path is pushed from our workspace into theirs, so the lesson that says 52 N·m under ECO-2041 is the same lesson on both sides, and when a new engineering release triggers a review of the learning material, the update reaches Keystone through the same door. Lena sees her own workspace's certification evidence. She does not see our private operations lane, and we do not see her customer notes. Partner standing is computed from the completion evidence on the pushed path, which is the only reason I can trust the roster without re-checking it by hand.
What triggers a review of the material?
A new engineering release. When ECO-2041 released Rev D, the lesson that cites the torque had to say 52 N·m, and the source references had to point at the current sheet. A certification path that lags the release is worse than none, because it certifies people on the superseded value with confidence.
Where does Keystone stand today?
Lena has completed the path. The follow-up on my list is to review the pushed path roster with Dana Okafor after the released-spec notice, so that the people who will answer counter questions are the ones whose evidence we have checked. That review is open, and it stays open until the evidence has been read.
How does a learner prove what they already know?
The path starts with a pre-assessment. A distributor who has been quoting Rev D correctly for months can show it before the first lesson, and the remaining lessons focus on what the pre-assessment did not cover. Dana Okafor, who is working through the path as our own fresh learner, starts without a completed pre-assessment, which is the point: the evidence has to be earned on the path, not asserted from a job title.
Is a Current SKU Specialist allowed to rule on a conflict?
No. The role means the person knows the current source, the superseded source and the owner of a dispute. It does not make them the owner. A certified counter that meets two contradictory torque sheets does exactly what the scenario question in the review asks: cites Rev D under ECO-2041 with both sheets attached and routes applicability to Marcus Lindgren.
Q&A
The questions distributors ask most about certification are answered below.

Questions and answers
- What does the Distributor current-SKU certification path teach?
- RB-1200 revision control, ECO conflict escalation, safe SOP ownership and returns intake, across four modules, followed by the Current-SKU knowledge review.
- What does it take to pass the knowledge review?
- 80% within a 25-minute time limit. The review mixes multiple-choice, multi-select, ordering, a written explanation and a scenario about two contradictory torque sheets.
- Does certification let a distributor approve a torque change?
- No. A certificate does not authorise changing torque, bypassing isolation or promising a warranty outcome. Engineering disputes still go to Marcus Lindgren and quality rulings to Priya Raman.
- How does Ridgeline know a distributor is certified?
- From completion evidence on the pushed learning path in the partner workspace. Partner standing is computed from that evidence, and Theo Baptiste reviews the roster before enabling a distributor to advise on newly released hardware.

How should you read the Ridgeline distributor SKU catalog?
Four SKUs, one rule: a catalog entry tells you what a part is, not what it is approved to do. Theo Baptiste walks through the RB-1200, RF-840, RF-620 and RF-310 entries and the revision notes that travel with them.
